I almost forgot. There is a couple buddies of mine that started our own wiki page. It is blackdog saloon and has been fun. Go ahead and check it out if you like.

Ok, sure I'm all in. I like the recipes idea alot. Something else that might be fun would to be able to post some videos of our brewing techniques. I go onto YouTube quite a bit to research different things. I have a page there as well with some vid…

Definitely not ruined. What kind of carboy are you using?

Did the vendor at the local fair mention what grade honey he/she was selling?

Hey Nick - What temperature would you say your garage is on average? You could try Neil's blanket suggestion, or - put your fermenter / carboy in a larger container (like a keg bucket, or a huge cooler, whatever), and fill that container with water…

Hey Martin, I wasn't able to access your video (maybe the link is busted?). For your first mead, will you be boiling the honey or no? -> http://www.washingtonwinemaker.com/blog/2008/10/28/making-mead-testing-the-controversy-over-boiling/

ok another example: I can create wiki-style posts on brewing techniques, and we'd have a member contributed guide of sorts for brewing beer, custom built and edited by our community the way we see fit...

Hey guys, ihomebrewbeer.com has been struggling a bit. There's just not that much to do here, really. So I'm beginning development on a Drupal platform, that enables us to do, well, anything. A small example would be... I want users to be able to…

Most definately the STEELERS. I've made it to at least one game evry year for the last 10 or so years. Home or away. And yes I was there for the win against the Ravens in the Raven stadium. I waited 5 years for that win....how sweet it is!!!!!

We're drunk.

My big news is that I've planted my own hops in the garden, can't wait for spring.

Cheers mate, We did a big brew of apple cider last year that was very good. This year we are letting the apple juice ferment naturally in the bottle for sparkling apple juice. Yum. Also into brewing lots of amber ales, in the hopes of attaining a cream ale once tasted years ago. Got any recipes?

There is a Beer Fest in Mt Hope Estate starting Friday with music and buffet. There is a VIP thingy on Friday tickets a little salty. Then Sat it's a little cheaper I think $40 for beer and food. Still a littl high but I think there are like 4 diffferent buffets and it's all you can eat. Not sure If we are going yet, depends on how many people are interested I guess.

Avery IPA, close 2nd. Nope no clubs yet. Maybe we hit up a meeting together. I work in hospitality so the schedule gets a little wacky. But i definitely want to get into a club.

Nick - I usually get to attend about 4 to 5 brewfests a year. I went to the GABF, Small Batch Beer Fest (FoCo), Rocky Mt Brewfest (Estes Park), All Colorado Brewfest (C. Springs) last year. Hope to see you at one of them this year. Cheers!

Thanks Nick. I'm a brew noob--only brewed 3 times so far and used recipe kits (with extract). Plan to build a mash tun and counterflow chiller in the coming months and start getting more serious. I hope to learn from the community here.

We've got a decent craft beer scene here. Many microbrews around.Last year I attended the American Craft Beer Fest at the World Trade Center in Boston. What a good time! I will have to make it an annual event for my wife & I. 75 craft brewers from across the country with a total of like 300 different beers.

ya we havent either... and can't until we get a bigger place, I guess the device/contraption you need would take up too much space....

hey do u know when ingredients have gone stale. We have some from last spring like some plain wheat. Do u think it's useless?? Other question we bought some flacked wheat that you need a special device to mash it that we won't own for awhile. Could you use it?? We could send it to ya? Let me know or if you know a guy?

I thought that was one in your pictures. ya I didnt know they were called wort chillers. I wish we had one but kevin thinks/says he's going to build one :P... anyway I think our beers taste good but kev thinks that they have a weird taste due to our inability to regulate the temp once it's in the fermenter. In DC its pretty warm here but this last one we put in the bedroom instead of the dining room and so far the temp is at least 5 degrees cooler which hopefully will make a better brew. Anyway ya if we end up building one I';ll let u know but I['ll prolly get kev one for his bday or something.... I think u may need weilding experience to build one :P hee hee. So is the Northern LIghts IPA your fav?
