The wife wanted me to do a brew for her and when she said what she wanted I was like "ok no problem". She wanted a Killians clone and I really like Killians myself so this was clearly a no brainer. This is the first time I brewed with that Flaked Maize (corn) and leaf hops. The corn was definately different to use because it swelled up when I was steeping it, a little more than I expected. The leaf hops was actually quite easy to clean up concidering how much they expand as well when they absorb the water through the brewing process. Much easier than the pellets, for me anyway because I use a filter in my funnel when transferring into the primary from my brew pot. It is alway a pain scrapping the filter all the way through pouring it. The leaf hops I just used one of theose slotted serving spoons and held it at the edge of the potand then let the hops into the funnel after most of the liquid was out of the pot. Then I just pushed down on all of them to sqeeze the liquid out and dumpd onto a paper plate. I will be transferring this one today into the secondary to let sit the next 2 weeks. Really looking forward to this brew and hopefully I will still have the Blue Moon left so I have a reason to buy the rest of the equipment to be able to serve 2 kegs at the same time. I will then be 2/3rds of the way to my goal of serving 3 different home brews at the same time from my beer fridge.
