Discuss and share the glory of home brewing!

I was going through what hops I had left over from previous brews and decided to use those while doing a Blue Moon. The Blue Moon called for Willemette and Saag hops. I did have the Willemette for the full brew time but I used the Yakama Magnium for the last 15 minutes instead of more Willemette and then used Hallertau for the last 5 minutes instead of the Saag. This one sat in the primary for 10 days before transferring into the secondary. Then I only kept it in the secondary for 11 days because I blew my Fat Tire on Friday and didn't want to be with out a home brew. So I kegged it a little early. I'm using one of the new kegs I got from a buddy of mine for "free". So far so good, I used the cleaner in it and pushed it all through the lines with the CO2. And then did the same with the santizer. Seemed to work, use a little more CO2 but I wanted to be sure the keg was going to be clean. I also bottled 2/6-packs to set off to the side for later and to let it age some. So far so good with this one, it starts out tasteing like a Blue Moon but at the end you can really taste the Yakima Magnium. It's not over powering but it is definately there and that was what I was shooting for. So I'm happy.

This brew has been by far my best brew to date. It tastes nothing like a Blue Moon at all. It definately has 2 distinctly different tastes going on. And it has been just getting better as it ages. I've been trying to make it last but I'm afraid that I probably only have a glass or two left. I will be making this one again, soon. If I can replicate this one and it turn out the same way I'm going to have to give it a name. After I brew probably 2 other brews I'll go back to this one.
